Made of locally produced, coarse earthen clay and with unique glaze recipes and traditional Japanese pottery techniques, each piece has an artisan touch and "one of a kind" charms including rustic iron in powder and pinholes. The [Gray] (Sabi-kairagi) is made with a traditional technique of first applying a layer of white powder-clay (the "kohiki" technique) which later crazes during firing. Then, by applying traditional Japanese brown paint, such a unique crackle pattern is created.
